Immaculate Conception Cemetery is the oldest Catholic cemetery in Arnold, Missouri. Since the 1840s, it has served as the final resting place for generations of parishioners and their loved ones. For more than 175 years, this sacred ground has remained a lasting part of our Catholic heritage.
Purchasing Burial Lots
Limited burial lots remain available in our last section of the cemetery, Mt. Zion. These lots are available for purchase by established, registered parishioners with a minimum of a two-year active contribution history with Holy Family Parish. Burial
We strongly recommend double-depth burial in each lot. DeClue’s Grave Service, 636-937-2194, opens the graves in our cemetery. The fee for this service is to be paid at the time of burial. Ordinarily, the funeral director makes this arrangement. Holy Family Parish assumes no responsibility for additional expense due to subsurface rock formations or other soil conditions. To preserve our cemetery for future generations, concrete vaults are required.
Cremation
The Catholic Church prefers that bodies of the deceased be present at the funeral liturgy and then buried. If cremation has been chosen, the cremated remains must be buried. The Bethany section of the cemetery is reserved for cremation plots. Each space will be approximately 18” square.
If another family member has been buried in our cemetery, cremated remains may be buried in the same grave. If the grave lot is for double depth, then the cremains can only be added after the second burial and not before.
Monuments and Memorials
All monument dealers, please read through the rules and regulations document below. Verify that the monument the family is designing with your company follows these rules prior to creating the monument. Setting fees must be paid by the monument company prior to any setting work beginning. The lot owner may place monuments or markers when the lot is paid for in full. As this is a Catholic Christian cemetery, all memorials must incorporate a Christian symbol in their design.
Rules for Flowers and Grave Decorations

Planting by individuals is not permitted on lots.
Natural cut flowers are recommended.
Funeral flowers will be allowed to remain on a new grave for one week after the interment
A Christmas wreath or grave covering of natural material is permitted on a lot from Thanksgiving Day until the last week of January.
Glass or ceramic flower vases are not permitted in the cemetery. No other glass containers or objects are permitted in the cemetery as they are hazardous for the workmen and visitors.
No more than two permitted decorations per grave. Potted plants, votive or solar lights, flags, and other unsightly decorations are not allowed. The cemetery reserves the right to remove and discard any excess for the overall maintenance and appearance of the cemetery.
The Parish Cemetery Maintenance Committee will remove flowers and all other grave decorations periodically. To maintain the beauty of the cemetery, all decorations will be removed:
- During the third week of March, in preparation for Easter;
- During the third week of October, in preparation for All Souls’ Day.
