Flowers, Memorials, Visitations
There are limitations to the number of flowers that can be accommodated in the sanctuary
of the church at a funeral. Ordinarily floral arrangements could be accommodated in front
of the ambo and on easel sprays at each end of the base of the sanctuary.
At funerals when cremains are present a simple table arrangement is set up, either
centered or off centered at the base of the sanctuary. The urn is displayed on the table,
usually surrounded by a simple floral arrangement, candle (s), and an image of the
deceased.
If there is going to be a visitation in the church prior to the funeral it should be limited to an
hour and a half. Set-up (flowers, easels, etc., including the casket) generally can be
completed within a half hour of the beginning of the service.
